Ive decided on a career in the Police but im not sure what degree/university to take. My expected GCSEs are all A*s and i'm confident of getting 3 A's at A Level.

Which degree would be most suitable and would it matter if it was at Edinburgh, with it being in Scotland?

There are numerous degrees nowadays concerning policing, such as Staffordshire 'Policing and Criminal Investigation', Bucks New 'Policing' etc, i was looking into these as initially i wanted to join the police as a graduate. I've got similar expected grades etc to you and have now just applied to do Law at uni after tonnes of consideration and a change of heart about the force.

Police forces as a whole will favour you with any sort of degree, over the average Joe without one, obviously meeting other requirements etc.

If you want to definitely do a policing degree then go for it, however the unis that offer it will have lower entry requirements than you can achieve, i.e for Staffs it was 280 UCAS points. So maybe think about doing something like Criminology or something that is more competitive?

A mate of mine wants to join the police after Uni, he's currently doing Criminology and Psychology at Bangor? Maybe something like this.

Edinburugh is an ace Uni and I doubt policing itself is that different. Only if you actually studied Law might there be problems further south, I could imagine.
