does anyone know what the structure of isomer of but-2-ene is
that does not show geometric isomerism??

and also why the isomer drawn does not show geometric isomerism??

    any help appreciated

But-2-ene is CH3-CH=CH-CH3 which most definitely does show geometric isomerism. If I understand the question correctly it wants an isomer of this that has no geometric isomer. An obvious one is but-1-ene CH3CH2CH=CH2. The groups on the double bonded carbon at the end (carbon 1) are the same so no geometric isomers are possible. (CH3)2C=CH2 is another one I can think of (2-methylprop-1-ene). Two CH3 groups on one double bonded carbon and two hydrogens on the other.

Actually those two structures aren't isomers of but-2-ene. They are C4H6 rather than C4H8. I'm sure you meant to say methylcyclopropane.

Oops for some reasons I thought she was talking about butadiene rather than but-2-ene.
