    512kbps broadband but that is shared with 4 other users via my NAT router. I've not configured it for DHCP because I am a mean sod.

    does ur speed get divided equally or it depends on PC ur using it?

    its slow cos usually I'm on the uni which is very very fast.

    Yes the internet connection is on the router itself not any PCs. So each PC gets equal bandwidth. If I am the only person sending/receiving data then I will get the full 576kbps.

    Some of the more fancy routers such as Cisco you can actually allocate bandwidth limits on each group.

    I never have any speed issues though.

    So do people in uni download software? And then sell it on?

    kool kool! So i dont think it wud be a good idea to hav a network with 56k then. hehe ur speed will like 23K!!!!!!!! wooo how am i gonna survive in that speed.
    That means no internet on my brother's computer
