I was just wondering what the requirements for transfering from one university to another. By that I mean, do the university you want to transfer base their offer on previous grades attained at school (I didn't meet the requirements for this uni from my school grades, but my grades aren't poor...) or university first year exams?

I was just wondering because although I think my uni is great, (Strathclyde btw!) I'm hardly there (twice a week)... and whilst it's considered excellent for the likes of law, engineering, business & the sciences, it isn't really that great for history... in fact I think I'd be happier at Glasgow, only because the history course looks really interesting and is well thought of, oh and they seem to go uni more than twice a week...

    Thanks for any help

You have to contact the uni you're interested to see if they'll accept transfers and what their requirements are. Some will just look at your first year results while others will look at school grades as well. You then apply via UCAS and the normal UCAS deadline usually applies (15th Jan).
