    Hey folks,

I have been given an unconditional offer from Canterbury, Kent. Before choosing my accommodation, I just wanted to know a bit more about all of the colleges, flats and houses.

Which place is the quietest and least rowdy, as I'm not really into going out and getting "wrecked". I don't mind socialising and having a bit of fun, but the most important thing for me is to get through uni and study hard. (I know that probably sounds really sad!)

So which place would you say, where I can concentrate and get a good nights sleep is the best for me? (I am going to one of the open days next month, but I just wanted a heads up).

    Thanks everyone

I can only tell you about parkwood. I am in my room, in my flat now and I can't hear a thing. The only time I have heard noise is when there was a party in my section. Was on the bottom floor and I am on the top (3 floors) but it wasn't that loud. Also the houses are pretty quiet. There are parties every now and again but nothing too bothersome. However, if you are stuck with a **** of a flatmate like me and you are next door the base travels right through the walls. You can always ask them to turn it down.

I would'nt worry about it, I can only speak for parkwood but I really have never had any problems.

I'm in Tyler Court A and it's great. Not too much noise at any time. Socialising in shared kitchens and also away from halls. No problems with sleeping and no probs with socialising!. You get allocated a college to be a member of but generally everyone just mixes. Mungos is about the best. btw, I'm staying on campus next year and asking for TCA again.

Hey! Right, well if you dislike rowdyness then avoid Pin Hill as it's right next to a nightclub. In my opinion, Lan Franc has the best accommodation. Nice big rooms, modern building, good security, close to town and the uni. Parham Road is where I'm currently staying. It's just a road full of student houses. Security at Cant are quite anal about noise and if parties get too big the wardens close them down quickly. Parham is a bit of walk away from the town and uni but is close to a massive Asda.

Judging by price I think Tyler court b&c and Parkwood flats. The flats are self catering, not sure about tyler. Also Parkwood (flats and houses) don't have wi-fi.

Hey I would recommend Parkwood. IT's the best place on campus and very social. The flats are quieter but you pay the price. I lived in Parkwood last year in the Standard-Superior accomodation and I had a great time, met lots of great people and friends. This year I participate in the Parkwood Student Committee as a media officer. If you have any further questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer
