I thought I might be gay after a sweaty, naked evening spent under the stars in an east-african war zone with Ross Kemp

    :woo: freaking hilarious
    seriously
    I giggled (:

Positively terrible wasn't it. But, it's practically true that if you have the thoughts you're obviously curious about it so you may as well try it. The worst thing that happens is you don't like it, and remain straight; or maybe you hurt a gay/lesbian friend... The best thing that happens is you decide you like it, but you'd rather remain straight out of choice (but you're secure in your self), or you convert and start a whole new life as a bi-/homo-sexual, OP.

Sure. To settle the issue, I had a shot at jacking off to some gay porn. I wasn't really feeling it though, so I figured I was straight after all.

Porn alone is certainly not any kind of test of sexuality. I am gay (fairly sure anyway) and I was REALLY turned-off by gay porn the first time I saw it. I found it really repulsive (and I still do to a certain extent).

Only a few years ago I was in serious doubt as to my sexuality, and it was a very confusing time. I thought that my confusion about my sexuality was natural and a process that happened to everyone, and that in a few years I'd snap out of this phase and be able to move on with my heterosexual life. It was just weird because until I was like 14 homosexuality as a concept seemed so distant and alien to me and I could never have imagined that I myself was in fact gay. I didn't even really believe it existed until I was 11 for god's sakes!

Discovering your sexuality will be something you achieve. You may in fact be asexual, but that doesn't mean you can't have a good and fulfilling life.
Hmm... It's definitely worth thinking about, the possability that I might be a self-repressed homosexual. The only reason I've personally contemplated the thought was because I don't think I've ever really been sexually attracted towards girls (more potential repression) and definitely know I'm not with guys.

Then there's the whole I can find girls beautiful/cute and can see certain guys as (granted they usually look rather feminine) as OK looking. But yeah I know thinking someone looks nice is not a good indicator of sexuality.

When you say you were confused. Do you mean you were sexually attracted to males in real life? Or something else...? How did you manage to figure it all out in the end?

Oh god. You sound exactly the same as me when I was about 15. I was freaking out that I was a repressed lesbian because I didn't fancy guys! But I didn't fancy girls! OhmiGod!

Worked out I'm closer to asexuality than anything else, but I'm now happier with 'queer' as an identity, because I don't fit any real group, I'm somewhere between bi and ase.

    Go check out these websites:

You can DEFINITELY still do the love thing. :yep:
