I think you do this: But not 100% sure:

Put it to power of log(base2)x

That will make it 3(x) -1

Sorry-actually will be 3/x -1

as using log rules it can be rewritten as x^-1 which is 1/x, and that is multiplied by 3
2^(-log(base2)x will just equal x
