Hi! I'm currently in my 3rd year at UC San Diego and I'm finishing up my applications to study abroad in the UK next year. I really want to go to Edinburgh, but I need to apply to a backup too and I have no idea which one to choose. I'm looking for a school with a good program in Biology (especially Ecology) and a decent social life. Right now I'm looking at Glasgow, Bristol and a few London universities (Imperial College, King's College and Queen Mary)...can anyone tell me more about them? Or is there anywhere else I should consider?
Also, if anyone has any questions about UCSD I'll answer them

Have you been to the UK before?
Visiting and seeing unis helps a lot, but since it's a bit late for that...
What kind of place do you WANT to spend a year in? Do you like smaller places, cities, something in the middle?
You can always check the rankings for the "best" unis in Bio, but the rankings aren't as reliable as they should be.
Here are the tables for Bio:
But like I said, just use that for ideas... it's not an end all be all, and it's more important to find a place you'll be happy.
If you can, go for interviews if you're called, to tour the unis and see what it would be like. I'm hoping to decide between my top two choices that way...
Also UCSD is great, that's where I'd have gone if I weren't leaving the US. <3
