Not sure what you're aiming at here but I'd have thought that the easier option would just be to go for undergrad social work not for something else then masters - the masters is mostly for graduates of other subjects who later discover that social work is what they want to do as a career as I understood it...

Politics would be more relevant; in fact, some unis specify that your first degree is in a social science for Social Work Masters. I'm completely unbiased of course, having majored in Politics at undergrad level then moving on to the Social Work MA lol! However, seeing as you haven't yet started your degree, I'd take a gap year if I were you to get the work experience required, then reapply for the BA/BSc in Social Work next year. It'll save you time and money.

As social work degrees are a professional qualification, they all have to meet very similar standards and cover similar topics so employers don't particularly look at where your degree's from; they're more interested in the experience you've gained whilst on placement and from volunteering/doing other paid work. Some of the more popular unis I've heard mentioned by applicants on here and on other forums are Keele, Salford, Manchester, Manchester Met and Hertfordshire.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do! PM me if you have any other questions and I'll try my best to answer.
