I want to take on African studies and politics in Uni but I didn't study anything relavent in college, although my grades were good. I have only discovered my passion for it in the course of my gap year and due to some experiences.

Is it essential I took politics or would my political work experience help me on to the course, because i'm not too keen on going back to college for two years unless it's really necessary.
