Accents - where's the defining border between two towns that means when you cross it the accent changes.

Languages - who decided different countries should speak a different language.

Space - it's just a bit weird that all the planets are just 'floating' in big black space and where does it end.
Noone decided different countries should speak different languages; it just happened. People in different areas had different words for the same thing, it progressed from there, accents were probably involved at some stage. When the countries are far apart, the languages developed independently, which is why Chinese sounds so different to English.

As for space, there is one weird thing about it which has always been bugging me: If most of the Universe is made of nothing, then how do we know it ends, and if it does end, what is there outside it?

    Parents? :toofunny:

    .......Confused......

Also, if police are natural, why are we the only species to have them? Why haven't we always had them? Why do they prohibit the smoking of a plant which naturally grows on the planet? Why do they prohibit sex outside?

Humans are the only species (I think) which start maturing, then stop for a couple of years and then resume at a later age.

As someone mentioned before- flying. If you asked people 200 years ago what they thought of being stuck in a relatively small metal capsule 30000 feet in the air for 2-5 hours Im sure theyd be petrified. I mean, entrusting your life to a machine in itself is a wierd concept (same goes for all transport). And yes, I am petrified of flying

    Contact lenses. Seriously. They're wierd.

I'm rubbish at all things technical, but being able to reproduce sounds and images is wierd.

So is the importance we place on how things 'look' and the fact our eyes enjoy seeing certain objects/people more than others purely aesthetically.

Do you always listen to your parents? And they are always right? :p:

And I didn't say that police are natural, but punishment & authority have always existed and police just take part in the process of creating justice. Besides, they? You mean police? If you do, then you're wrong.

I came out of my mum's vagina. Her vagina.
yeah, and that we talk to the same person that breastfed us :afraid:

The way we speak in different sounds, and how it can sound like gibberish to us but other people make sense out of them.

How differently we live to other animals and how much more we do than them.

I have to say, this is like one of the most interesting threads I've read this year. Good work OP (Y)
I find it wierd how we all sort of decided on how to understand 'time' like how we know it's 1pm or whatever.
The fact that we poo inside toilets.

I might be wrong but I think that's how you work out where the universe ends: the universe was a single point as the big bang happened and since then it has been expanding, if we know at what rate it expands and we know what the "time" is right now we can work out where the universe ends. This depends on what you mean by the universe obv. you could mean anything that can ever exist which basically is going to ask the question: what's outside ? or if you consider the universe to be what I said first you ask the same question so I'd say the interesting question is: What lies beyond our universe ?
Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever know the answer

I find it wierd that we rarely socialise in places other than those that have a half wall with people behind who serve you liquid that doesn't hydrate you?!?!

There aren't really any places to meet friends that don't have these mysterious "bars".

Noone goes there and says "no thanks, I'm not thirsty"?!?!?!
I thought this.. and how people worship it as "having a life" and how many people never tire of it.

Waxing - putting melted stuff on your face/arms/legs/body and then ripping it off, wincing from the pain, only to do it again in a few weeks time.

Shaving - getting a sharp bit of metal and scraping it up and down your legs, under your arms, on your face etc.

Painting body parts (tattoos, nail painting etc.) - you never see a pig that's decided to rub a bit of mud onto it's balls just because it thinks it looks pretty.

Theres loads more but I don't have time to finish this. Might come back later.

Going to a large building with many other people for most of your life, to be told things and be quizzed about them, then to receive pieces of paper which allow/deny you access to another large building, where it is more difficult to get good pieces of paper.

    I like school though! =)

All these random dots of coloured light on the screen are people from all over the world having a discussion - that's a weird concept.
