I'm a 17 year old girl in need of some new undies but I'm worried of what my Mum will think/say if I buy some nice pretty stuff. I need thongs for like white jeans in the summer and some tight skirts and dresses but I don't know what she will think :/ Also the pretty stuff just looks so pretty

I don't want to buy stuff with her because it makes me embarrassed. Shall I just get some stuff when I'm out shopping on my own or with friends and not tell her and wait to see if she says anything once I've put them in the wash?

Is it a Mum thing about me growing up or something?

Advice please, I've felt like this for about 2 years now
    Thank you

Can't you do your own washing? :p:

It's your underwear... Buy whatever the hell you want.

Unless your family is really strictly religious and they think sexy underwear = having sex, or you're like 12 years old then just grow up and buy some!

It's not like she'll take them out of the laundry basket and burn them because you're not allowed to wear pretty knickers, you never know, she might buy you some too.

Yeah, to be honest your 17, your allowed to go out and screw someone legally, so why not have some nice underwear to do it in?

Yes I am joking, but just get what you want, if your mum comments about them say you'll do your own washing then.

Go out and buy your underwear, I think at 17 your mum doesn't have any control over what you choose to wear and if she's okay about you wearing tight skirts and dresses then sexy underwear should be no different.
If she starts interrogating you, tell her that it's so you can wear nice clothes without everyone seeing your panty-line, it makes you feel good and it's none of her business anyway!
La Senza always have good offers/sales on. 5 pairs of knickers for £12!

Don't hide things from you mum. You certainly shouldn't feel embarrassed about shopping with her. Every girl goes out and gets some sexy underwear at some point- she knows that and she'd probably quite like to be a part of it.

Just buy some when you're with your friends. If you don't want her to see then don't show her them, and wash/dry them yourself.

To be honest, at 17, I really doubt she'll judge you for having the underwear of a 17 year-old. If you don't talk about it then that saves the majority of the embarassment.

I don't think you need that stuff at 17 to be honest.

Couldn't you do your own washing?!
Although if you don't want to go shopping with her when you buy them you could always ask for a friends advice... .

Why would she care about your underwear? Since when is it any of her business, anyway?
