This is crazy because the same thing happened in my school, everyone did very well in module 1 (essay) but mediocre-ly/badly in module 2 (sources). My friend just got an offer to do history at Oxford, and she got a C in module 2 despite all her predictions of all As and doing phenomenally well in classes. We're both re-taking italian unification tomorrow - panic!

just wondering if anybody else flunked history AS as epicly as I did last year despite doing an unhealthy amount of revisions for it (!) and having good predictions? If so what were you predicted and what did you achieve in said modules:

    makhani:
    Britain 1815-65: Predicted A, achieved: A 89/100 methinks
Impact of Stalin's leadership on the USSR: Predicted A, achieved D 53/100 :yep:

and who else has the great pleasure of retaking?
I'm retaking and i am in DEEP trouble. I got 61 last time and am aiming for 81 this time.

It's time for God to show himself ... please?

    ha ha! same situation here!
    Britain: predicted A, achieved: A 96/100
    Russia: predicted A, achieved: C 66/100

Retaken the russia exam to try and push the marks up to take pressure off this year!

I think it may have more to do with the fact that it's a new spec. than anything.

what's really ironic is he sources questions are meant to be the easy bit, thats why they're in the AS but not the A2. Hah.

I think everybody does **** in them because of the indicative content; even though its an interpretative task and thus one might be forgiven for thinking a little (!) subjective, they want you to get from the sources exatcly what they get.

From the mark scheme it seems most of the time they just want you to state the obvious.

I just retook stalin paper today, i'm regarding it as more of a practice run for the summer retake.... now THAT'S gonna be fun...kill me, kill me now.
