So I went out with a guy recently. We'd talked quite a bit online before, so we were already past the stage of, what do you do, what are your hobbies etc.

He seemed like a nice, caring guy but conversation didn't flow too well.

He's asked to meet up again, but it was at an unexpected sort of time, so I said yes, as a reflex reaction, without even thinking!

I'm not really that experienced with dating etc. and I guess what I really want to know is, if you don't click instantly on the first date, is that the end of it? Or have you gone out with someone again, despite the first date not going too great, because you feel the he/she may have some potential?

If he's got potential, go for it! He might just have been really nervous or something?

But you've also got to realise, that online =/= real life so any impressions you have of him might be wrong. Go on another date and see how it goes? You're not really loosing something by giving it a try.
