"Officially" it was when my mum and Dad gave me "the talk" when I was about 10. Which basically meant they gave me a book called "Where did you come from?" and told me to read it.
I had some idea of what it was before that just from listening to my friends.

When I was in Primary School, a girl from the year above told me that "Babies are made when a man pees into a girls bum."

I realise it wasn't the most accurate description, but it got me interested.

I knew there was something called sex that men and women did in bed to make babies, but I didn't know exactly how it worked until I read 'Forever' by Judy Blume when I was about 9.

Just sort of from TV... I remember my mum being really upset that I already knew before she had the chance to give me 'the talk'. Weirdo.

I don't know about you, but when I first had proper sex education in my last years at primary school, I don't recall being particularly surprised by any of the things I learnt. But I also don't remember my parents telling me about it, or my friends. I have no idea how I found out about sex, or how old I was when I realised! I was wondering if any of you remember how you found out about it all?
Same with me. Had sex ed in year 4 and wasn't surprised by anything but I can remember when I was 7 I thought women got pregnant because God just decided to give them a baby. My sister said you could get pregnant if you were 8 so I was terrified God would make me pregnant. I also remember thinking sex was just rolling around on the bed hugging someone else (fully clothed).

I don't know what happened between 7 and 9 that made me understand what sex ws

I was walking around and I suddenly fell into a strip club for some reason.
Yes, they cleverly place the entrance in the middle of the path. That's how they get'cha.

I can distinctly remember, at the age of about 5, thinking that testicles were potential babies, and when people kissed they sort of travelled up through the man, into the woman, and pregnancy ensued. I can't remember when I realised I was a bit misinformed, though.

I was 8 years old. I asked my dad what sex meant, and he told me it's how babies were made. He wouldn't go into detail though. I mentioned it to my friend at school, and I guess he did some investigation himself. He came back to me the next day and said "I found out how babies are made! It's really gross, the man has to pee into the lady's vagina."

That's how I found out about sex. I've been true to this method, so I have to wonder why the ladies never seem to enjoy it.
