Cannot comment on someone's status update on Facebook watch

I just tried to make a witty comment on a FB 'friends' status update, but it immediately vanished as soon as I posted it. I tried to do it again but, again, the comment disappeared immediately.

I tried to comment on another friend's status, and that one still appears as normal.

So, is it probable that this "friend" has blocked me from commenting on their facebook status?

How is that possible? The privacy settings only allow for deciding who can VIEW your status and suchlike.

Surely if I couldnt comment on a status upate, then the comment box wouldn't be there in the first place?

May be your friend deleted your comment
'cause it happens with me sometimes but i just refresh the page and the problem's solved! Try commenting on any other status of this friend, if that stays and this doesn't.. it's pretty clear she/he has deleted it

It's because Facebook is an error-strewn mess. With each "update" or "layout improvement", there are 5 times the errors and half the accessibility.
