# Official Edexcel C3 Discussion Thread watch

1. (Original post by htn)
its sort of true

if you get 95 ums in c3 and 85 ums in c4, you will get 90 ums on average of those 2 units, add in your third A2 unit, if the average is 90 ums or higher, you can still get the A*

its very complicated, just aim on getting full marks on every exam
The applied units don't count towards an A*
2. i got 86 in c3 does that mean that i would need 94 in c4 to get A*....i rang edexcel and they couldnt even clarify, stupid idiots.
this sucks cos this is my first maths module below 90 argghhh!!!

since I got 93 ums on c3, would that mean I need 87ums on c4 to get an A*?

Yes

93/100 , but I knew I messed up cause of really silly mistakes. I will be retaking.
Yeah same, I got 99. Stop being a ****, lot's of people would have been happy to get 93. If you are retaking, keep it to yourself, no one gives a ******** and yes, I beat you.

I am not being a **** you dumbass I need an A* for my offer. And who said I was not happy? And am only retaking because C3 is alot easier than C4. Plus am self teaching you ass so I am going to need all the marks I can get.

You can still get A* with 93 and to be honest, if you can't do well in C4 then it sort of proves that you don't deserve the A*. The A* is for exceptional candidates and has technically the hardest content in the whole A level course. Oh...and you are a **** nonetheless.

EDIT: Liked your edit. SELF TEACHING DOESN'T MAKE YOU SPECIAL. EVERYONE SELF-TEACHES PRACTICALLY, WRT REVISION. GET OVER YOURSELF.

Why don't you just shut the hell up? It's choice if he wants to resit and it's his choice if he wants to tell us. Go cry me a river if you don't agree.

your the one that needs to get a grip, you mistook my post for arrogance, but just goes to show what your your intentions are.

Oh, FREEDOM OF SPEECH RIGHT, he should be ALLOWED to speak up when he wants....but I'm not allowed to speak. STFU and when did you decide in your virtual relationship with him/her that they couldn't speak for themself. I have cried a river, now go kill yourself, oh btw, hope you did well....

Your post can very easily be viewed as arrogance. You made your intent particularly ambiguous and did just seem like the usual boastful comment commonly heard from a ****. You just did explain yourself to me, in your words, you retard. As well as this, well done for not lowering yourself to my level you dog...
12. (Original post by Nast)
I've been told that in order to get the A* you need to get the A* twice, both in C3 and C4.
Not sure of the validity of that but thats what I've been told :/
No that's not true at all.

I got 99/100 in C3, so I need to get 81/100 in C4 for an A*.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realise this was posted on the previous page and had already been answered.
13. 93 UMS (: Very chuffed with that!

(Original post by alithegreat)
94, do u guys reckon i shud retake to maximize the chance of getting an A*
No, I think all you need to do is get 86 minimum in C4, so I don't really see the need for a resit
14. I was told today that it's based on all three of your grades at A2 level, so for me C3, C4 and S1. I'm really confused as to whether this is true, or if it's just C3 and C4. Got 89 UMS, should I retake?
15. does anyone know which raw marks correspond to which ums mark?
16. I don't think so, not until they release results plus and we can take the raw marks from the standardised scores with a normal distribution.

you can work it out yourself, say you got 80 UMS than multiply that by 75, as the paper is out of 75 marks and you will get 60 raw marks.

edit: Might be wrong though!
18. I thought it was different for every paper depending on how people did though
