I may be utterly wrong here but I've been reading up a bit and I've come across a few sites that say I should workout and all but not take like supplements or protein power - things like that. So, yes, I was wondering if this is true (I'm 16 and it was recommending it for till about 18 or so to not do that) and if it is what should I eat after working out?

I'm thinking of some sort of protein shake but more the protein coming from like milk/yoghurt and some fruits in there with a few other stuff?

what nonsense. protein powder is fine (google whey). at 16 you can pretty much eat whatever you like to be honest.

Whey protein won't have any negative effects, except on your wallet. It'll also be completely pointless unless your diet is in order first.

Oh, right, would more people vouch for this? I mean I did think it would be fine because it's not like all the others like creatine and things but didn't want to risk it or anything.

I think my diet is fairly good anyway so what would you recommend now that I don't have whey protein and in the future when I will begin to buy it?

Depends on his diet, if it was **** then protein shakes wont go much in the way of making further improvements.

Well post workout i mix 45g whey, 40g maltodextrin, 40g dextrose and a pinch of salt into about 700ml of diluted robinsons fruit juice. But if your 16 and just starting out then get hold of some whey, myprotein.com has some good whey at a decent price, just put a scoop of that in some milk and have some fruit. Do this like 10mins after you workout then eat a balanced meal about 1 hour after you finish.
