AMM=Aircraft maintenance mechanic/ FLeM/chock/liney; the start point for aircraft tradesmen before further training specialising in mechanical or avionics, not forgetting the armourers too!(but there not real techies) A, I'm an armourer, B, I'm an armourer, C, I'm an armourer.....

ahh, so AMM is a term for all the aircraft tech trades (aircraft tech, weapons tech)?
With money tight these days you'll probably be hard pushed to get on an AACC or P-coy unless your role absolutely requires it or you are serving with one of the respective brigades. However, if you don't ask you don't get! As mentioned previously, if Herrick calms down then opportunities to attend these courses may become more frequent. That's if we've not been drawn into some other theatre.....

You can apply for the course but you are you may not get a place unless you are going to be working with brigade.
If the course is not filled then singleton's will be called forward.
A two RAF officers have passed over the last year however both i belive were off to work with 3 Cdo.
If in doub't phone CTC direct if you can't find the number on DII don't bother with the course.
Best of luck.

You joined to post a reply in a thread that's been dead for 4 months, and you're only providing information that's already been mentioned earlier?

Bloody hell, if you're a product of the course I'm losing respect for it....

Thanks for the insult but just trying to help. Four months is just about the time gap between course start dates so folks thinking of applying may be trying again soon or logging on to see if there was more info posted.
All the Best

P.S. For the record I did not claim to have done the course.

Yep. Any RAF trade that can be considered for tactical role can attend No 1 PTS for their Basic Military Parachute course, although in my time, we undertook Pre-Para, not P Coy as that was specific to the Parachute Regiment. If RAF and being attached to 3 BDE RM CDO, you can also book yourself in for 13 weeks of All Arms Commando Course training. It is not an option open to all (although things may have changed). In my day it was members of RAF Tactical Signals mainly, with some Air Traffic Officers who were employed as Forward Air Observers. There may have been a few Tactical Supply WIng or Logistics who also attended. RAF Regiment Gunners did not normally have access to AACC as they served with their Squadron, not at Brigade level. Hope this helps?
Probably not mate, This thread is from five years ago!
