Hi my mates had a conditional offer from Plymouth but its asked for him to provide evidence of his GCSE english and maths at C.
He doesnt have english GSCE at C its only D but he has key skills which apparently is equivelent?
Any ideas if key skills is equivelent or if he will get rejected because of grade D in english?

Technically it's not what they asked for, so they could reject him. However, if key skills is equivalent, they would have to be very mean to do so.

As long as he didn't put down that he had a grade c in english at gcse, and put that he has key skills instead, that should be ok..?

The best bet would be to ring up the uni, but I would think that if he sent off his key skills certificate that should be okay. Like someone mentioned, it is not what they asked for, but there shouldn't be a problem, ususally it asked for a grade X in X or equivilent anyway :dontknow:. However, he might get rejected if he has stated he did get a C in English, when in reality it was key skills, not English.

He didnt put his gcse grade down only his key skills, so if he sent off his key skills and gcse certificate for maths it should be okay?

call the uni up as well so that they know theyre going in get a key skills certificate instead of expecting a GCSE one when it arrives

I'd do an IELTS test if he hasn't got anything equivalent to GCSE English C.
