This Saturday the EDL (English Defence League) are staging a march in the main town centre where I live and to counteract, the UAF (Unite Against Facism) and students from the local university are also holding one.

Asides from this being ridiculous because where I come from we dont have a strong Muslim population and well ... its the EDL!
I was wondering how much trouble this will all cause for a city centre that isnt very big? And should I bother going up the city centre as I need to?

Has anybody ever experienced an EDL or similar march in there city? What are they like and what are your views of said march?
Send word to your student friends. They are outnumbered!! We shall be calculating and vicious in our attack. We will sustain for days on a diet of free hotdogs. We shall lay siege to the liberal douche movement!! and spare none.

Can I point out, the OP didn't actually say he was in favour of the UAF 'counter-protest'.

But yea, I too think the UAF are a ******* joke.. but a good joke nonetheless.

But not for Jews. More like a white, Christian homeland in the UK with no Muslims.

And I understand what you mean now.
Sort of. It is like that. It was like that for the Nazis. The Jewish Talmud has some of the most sublime racist and nationalist ideals ever devised; of course, the jews were fiercely nationalistic. These same ideals became part of the landscape of Christian ideas; as evidenced by the Crusades when they marched onto Jerusalem in 1069 I think it was. They fought against the Muslims and to reclaim the Holy Land. Although they believed that the Holy Land belonged to Christians; Christianity, it must be noted, is the Jewish faith taken to the next level. Christianity is not unrelated to Judaism; it is their logical conclusion to their own ideals and their own aspirations.

Likewise, Nazism and Zionism are not completely unrelated; the former is the creation of the latter by proxy (i.e. Hitler's Nazism was founded on the ideals of racial and national purity)

I don't agree with the EDL's actions, but they have as much right to march as those vicious free Palestine/Muslim supporters somebody posted a video of in another thread, where they were abusing the police and throwing things at them.

One rule for everybody (meaning in an ideal world I'd lock the lot of them up - benevolent dictataorship ftw !)

Yeah the Talmud is very extreme. Leviticus is the worst I think.

Judaism is basically Christianity that stopped at 1 AD. The Talmud stops after the story of the Jews is over and Christ comes along. Quite interlinked.

Judaism is basically Christianity that stopped at 1 AD. The Talmud stops after the story of the Jews is over and Christ comes along. Quite interlinked.
Judaism was characterised by three main groups: Essenes, Pharisees and Saddeucees. The Essenes were the only ones, according to experts who did not "stop"; they merged to form Jewish gnostic groups. These gnostic groups were initiators in Jewish mysteries and some of their doctrines were included in the Christian gospels; gospels which in their originals, of course, are either no longer extant or badly redacted.

There was no dicissive cut-off between the Jewish religious factions and the Christian groups that emerged during the first and second century. Gnosis was the logical conclusion to mystical Judaism characterised by syncretism, and Christianity was their final product from its refuse elements.

    Totally agree.

******* liberals. They still think they're the voice of the next generation or anti-conformist or some other BS. I'm going to set up an anti-students protest. We will be armed.
i don't know if you have heard, but students are unrelated to liberals

I just love the irony of the EDL marching for peace when they promote neo-nazi doctorines and in some of their media have lines saying how Hitler was god etc.

The EDL should just go back to sitting in their council houses and watch some day time tv while claiming benefits for a "bad back".
Any EDL members reading this (who knows why educated people affiliate themselves with such inbred people) should go and do something constructive with their time instead of trying to be a strong political movement because in reality your just a joke that will not be remembered in years to come.
You make us other British people look like sub human scum and frankly most of us are sick of you.

I will be going to the UAF counter march and if any of you EDL scum want trouble you can have it.

I witnessed the Nottingham march (along with the clash with an opposition march). It wasn't pretty. Loads of police! I think quite a few people were arrested. It just felt pointless and uncomfortable tbh and disrupted the city centre.

It was a horrible atmosphere. The only reason I was in town was to meet the missus and there were loads of rowdy football fans marching around too which didn't help.

I just find it crazy that there are people attracted to the EDL in a pluralist society - a country which grounded western democracy and endorsed it all over the world.

These people don't deserve the voice that democracy gives. I know that poses problems and it seems paradoxical to say "As long as you don't say all these things then say what you want" but democracy needs to be pragmatic and stamp out these *******.

I have never seen an EDL march on Facebook, and neither have you.

I do no what liberal means, and can easily associate it with both hippies and douches. Hence, liberal hippie douche.

At the end of the day, if Nixon had his way hippies would have been exterminated, that includes such sub groups as the liberal hippie douche, the student liberal douche, the pointy toed student douche marauding around with a sign that cites come despairingly unwitty liberal douche slogan.

In no way do I endorse the EDL, but at least they're marching for something. Hippie Liberal's just get in the way and whine.
