I'm having so much trouble with resolving angles... can someone help me with this question?
    i) the 3 forces are at equilibrium, find the value of P and x

ii) the force PN is removed. write down the magnititude and direction of the resultant of the reminaing two forces.

can you tell me step by step and why? thanks!!

no it's homework and i wasnt in the lesson and i'm catching up. i know you have to resolve it horizontally so that pcosx=11.2 but i get stuck after that...

if you resolve vertically you get Psinx=6.6 and if u resolve horrizontally u get pcosx=11.2.

    You know Sin/cos= tan
    so Psinx/Pcos x= tan x

so 6.6/11.2 = tan x and then u just do inverse tan to get the angle.

    Hope that helps! Good luck

Well done on solving the question, please keep asking if you want more help.

I'm very proud at the fact that you want to do Fashion at University but still went for potentially the hardest and most respected A-level out there.

Hats off to you OP. :top2:
