Skipp-sensei

Teach me one thing about physics. Theory. Preferably something that could be related to a car. Although that is not neccessary.
Sensei

Depends how much you already know, did you do A level/AS level/GCSE?

I forgot to take my lunch out of the fridge this morning so I had to buy some
What did I do this time?

And that's annoying sometimes when my daddy forgets his lunch I take it to him
3. I have done GCSE Physics.

@Vin Awww you forgot to take this with you

Ok I can't remember GCSE, so let's go for some basic mechanics to start with, I'll start really basic and see if I can build up...if you've done M1 this'll all be boringly familiar so speak up...this isn't directly linked to cars, but I'm not an engineering student, and cars exist within the mechanical world, so it'll be relevant at some point

F=ma (FullMetalAlchemist)

Meaning: Force=Mass x Acceleration

In units: x

Weight is therefore a force, measured in Newtons as it is your mass being accelerated towards the center of the Earth by gravity.

Newtons Laws:

First law: Force is necessary to change the state of rest or uniform motion of a body

Second Law: Rate of Change of Momentum acting on a body is directly proportional to the net force acting upon it

Third Law: When Body A exerts a force on body B then body B exerts on body A a force that is equal in magnitude, opposite in direction and of the same type

Momentum:

Linear momentum: p=mv

In words: Momentum is equal to the mass of an object multiplied by the velocity that it is traveling at (assumes you know the difference between speed and velocity)

From Newtons second law:

In words:
Second Law: Rate of Change of Momentum acting on a body is directly proportional to the net force acting upon it

In symbols:

=

Ft = mv-mu

Some of that may be too easy and I may have rushed some bits, just trying to identify what you know already, so identify what you understand and what you need elaborating & I can continue if you like

Yeah I remember that stuff.

Can Skipp-sensei teach me more?

I'm tempted to be mean and spam food pictures for the next 35 minutes.

Depends which direction you want to go in, do you know about circular motion or Newton's Law of Gravitiy, what about Simple Harmonic motion?

No, No and No. So that'll be teach me about all 3.

I'm going through the AQA specification. I see Young's Modulus. Hooke's Law. Well the stuff in the material section is interesting. It seems all this stuff I've been reading about is taught in physics A-level to some degree. wish I took physics now.

 Going to get 2 warning poooooiiints soon.
