So i am in yr 12 and i want to do sports science at university preferably bath, loughborough or Exeter. I know the course is really competitive and i was just wondering what offers people have been made including A levels and if they wanted an AS and also what people may have been rejected based on for sports science at any universities. I have looked at the perspectuses and entry requirements but was just wondering what people actually had found when applying?
Any comments are masively appreciated!!!! THANKS

Currently on a gap year but I applied for sports science courses last year for bath, loughborough, exeter and leeds met. My offers were bath AAA, Loughborough AAA, Exeter AAB and leeds met 240 points which i think is the same as three c's. I took three a-levels and one AS. I think for the uni's you are considering the entry requirements are pretty much what's in the prospectus but from open days I got the impression if you compete at a high level in sport then you can get your offer reduced by one grade but you have to be very organised and get in touch with the uni's/coaches. Hope that helps

I'm doing a BTEC National Certificate in Sport and Exercise Science (worth 2 A Levels) and Biology A Level at the moment...
Applied for Exeter, Bath and Brunel and have only had Exeters reply back - they have asked for a B in biology and Distinction in BTEC which is an easy one to get. I failed AS Spanish, Maths and Biology (am doing both AS and A2 biology atm.
If your college offers BTEC i'd def recommend them. All coursework and no exams.

I've received a conditional offer of AAB for Sport and Exercise at Exeter. I'm taking A Levels in PE, English Lit, Geography, History and General Studies (although I don't know why I bother with General Studies most of the time- most of the unis I applied for don't accept it anyway!) I applied to Loughborough and they declined my application because my predicted grades weren't good enough basically, although I'm predicted AAABC and the entry requirement is 3A's. My head of 6th form telelphoned Loughborough to question it and it turns out that they read my predicted grades wrong!!! They're now reconsidering my application, I hope to hear from them next week. Generally speaking, all prospectuses and website info is correct. Now cannot wait to head off to uni!
