ooh 50/50 esactly (17 votes for both at time of posting), i am studying to be an animal behaviourist - but specialising in dogs, you can do more training with dogs and if you get it right they are very responsive and can also help people eg: guide dogs, hearing dogs, police dogs, rescue dogs etc... but cats...... they just sit around and sleep! i did work with cats at a rescue centre for 3 years so i have spent time around them and i do like cats alot... but i think dogs are more useful and contribute more to society! but saying that if you work alot then you should get a cat not a dog as it can look after itself during the day, a dog cant.... i think it depends of the owner and what they wnat out of a pet, both have plus points and minus points, dogs take more effort to keep

Definitely cats, they’re less dependent, I couldn’t handle any of the psychological rubbish that comes with having a pack animal, like training it to be below you in the 'pecking order' (if it doesn’t already think it is of course ).

Plus, I’m actually quite frightened of dogs.

Cats ftw! Dogs are too dependent in my opinion whereas cats just tend to lie around and stare at things.

Not all dogs drip saliva everywhere. Mine doesn't. Stop being such an arse.

The sound of a cat purring is the vocal equivalent of shouting 'Yes, that's right. I'm an attention whore.'
Easy now =/ I didn't say I didn't like dogs and I didn't say they were all pathetic. No need to call me an arse because I prefer the general disposition of cats to the general disposition of dogs.
