Yea it can undergo wither acid or alkali hydrolysis. It would form the amine and a carboxyl salt using NaOH for the hydrolysis.

I know all this why the **** did I forget it in the ******* exam!!!!:mad2:

I don't remember what I did for any calculations (apart from the pH one which is easy) but I know you get a mark for working out Mr of everying involved so I did that every single time just to pick up a mark

I changed my bond angles as well. What did people get. I originally put 120 then 109 then I swapped them around after and now I'm not so sure coz of the amine having 3 areas of electron density

What? I got 109 for -NH2 and 120 for the double bond (was it C=O? I can't remember.)

Also, did anyone else find they were working out Mrs every five seconds? It got tedious!

I'm also very peed off I lost easy marks for that conditions/reagents question.

If it was NH2 the thats 109 surely... Lone Pair + 2bond pairs?
    wasn't it for Co2? linear 180?
    I really don't remember
All I know is I didn't like the aper =(

Its difficult. There are 3 gruops (it was bonded to the benzene as well) and the lone pair and the other one there was like 4 groups.

    I guess we'll not know.

So if it was Tetrahedral... then isn't that an insta 109 angle anyway?

ahha, it appears a 3 stage thought process is slightly beyound me.
I read: I wrote 120, then 109. And completely ignored you switched them back. lol

But still... At the end of the day, it was a really topsy turvy paper. Guess We'll just have to wait. = /

    C. 72 UMS :dontknow:

Not sure whether just to retake materials or both in June. I need
    23 more UMS for a B overall.

How did you (and everyone else when they are online) do?
