    hi, just wondering with the way this unit is set out, with both coursework and the exam totalling to 90 marks, how are the ums boundaries set? do they assign each raw mark from the exam a specific ums out of 80 then out of 20 for the coursework and add or what?
    what would i have to get in the exam (roughly) having gotten 17/18 raw in the coursework?? thanks!

    I think they're weighted as is, so 20% cw and 80% exam, and the final UMS is still out of 100 like all units. 15/18 is an A in coursework, and 57 or 58/72 an A on the exam. You can work it out from there.

    UMS boundaries are set seperately for the coursework and the exam. The UMS boundaries from the exam can vary a fair bit between years aswell
