I'm seriously considering becoming a social worker when i'm older, so could you answer some questions for me:

do you like your job? do you regret becoming a social worker?
are you making the difference in people's lives that you thought you would be making? do you make a difference/help people's lives?
    pros and cons?

My mother regrets becoming a social worker.

Pros: Get to help people change their life, can see even the smallest input make a huge difference to someone, can work in a wide variety of places, continual training/professional development, some social workers are absolutely brilliant.

Cons: Overworked and underpaid, too little money for everything you want/need to do, constant bad press, stressful, looked down on by those in related professions, there are a lot of social workers who just aren't very nice people.
