Hmm, you could always get some thermals from an outdoor shop - you can pick up top/bottom sets for about £20 which do an amazing job, if you catch a sale at least.

Hats, scarves, gloves, long thick coat, good underwear, thick socks, double up on socks, vests etc. I think you know all this already really lol

More thin layers is also sometimes better than less thick layers; it traps heat.

I've just got back from a mountaineering trip so I've been wearing shorts, t-shirt, fleece, coat, thick socks, boots, and a hat.

I wear a ridiculous number of layers as I get so cold- vest, top, cardigan, thin hoody, gillet, fleece, thick coat, scarf, hat, gloves, leggings, ski socks, jeans and fluffy boots. I'm not even exaggerating!

Tights, shorts, long t-shirt/short dress, flats if it's dry/DMs if it's wet, thick cosy blazer. Cardigan in my bag if it's a cold room but I usually overheat the second I get indoors.

for school... thermal vest, long sleeve t-shirt, school 3/4 arm blouse (they only do short or 3/4 arm... grr), cardigan, skirt, thick tights, long jacket, scarf, hat. haha.

weekends/work etc - thermal vest, top, cardigan/jumper, jeans, trainers or boots, long jacket, scarf, hat. until i'm indoors, then i just wear the top and jeans.

Usually two t-shirts, a jumper, a big fluffy scarf, my coat, and my gloves. This seems pointless though, because once I'm on the bus I get baking hot :\

Coat, scarf, occasionally gloves, jeans, top over a t-shirt.
