    So... I know about primary alcohols in esterfication...

    ...but what about secondary alcohols in esterfication, where do you add the C=O and C-O

    The question which made me think about this is;
    15.7.
    a) Draw the displayed formulae of the organic product of the reaction of ethanoic acid (in the presence of an acid catalyst) with;
    ii] propan-2-ol

    It'd just be ethyl ethanoate, but with a methyl group on the ethyl component. No idea what it'd be called!!! :p:

    Where would you put the "ester bond" - wouldn't you have a bit sticking out the end?
