I am currently doing my A2.
I did biology, maths, further maths, economics for my AS
    I dropped biology this year.
My AS performance is exactly the same as my predict grades are A* economics/ A Maths/ B Furthermaths.
I applied to Bath, Bristol, St Andrews, Warwick and Nottingham for economics and somethings else: eco and finance, economics, eco and management.

I got 2 rejections so far, from St Andrews and Bristol. Because all of my choices want students who are predicted 3As. My predict grades are A*AB (B in fmaths). I think it is very likely for me to get 5 rejections because of my predict grades. However, I have just retaken one maths AS module and one further maths AS module. So I am pretty confident that I can get A*A*A at the end of my A-level.

I am here to ask if there's still chance for me to get into a top university even the January deadline's passed?? My friend told me that there's something called EXTRA? But economics related courses such as Actuarial Science is very competitive. So I doubt there's spaces left.

HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 2011 SUMMER?

As far as I know you cant change your predictions, thus I would recomend aiming high, taking a gap year and applying with your grades. If you do get all rejections this year try and put down universitys with varying requirements so you dont get rejected again.

If you do get rejections from all 5, hopefully not, just use extra and see what you can find. It'll only open later on but look around. There might be a few universities worth applying to. Gap years are all good and stuff but if you haven't planned for it, do not decide on it lightly because you might end up wasting the whole year for nothing.
