a level at over 19 watch

    hi guys
    can anyone tell me if i can do a levels at the age of 19 ? my teachers said no college will take me for alevels if i am 19 or over...please tell me if it is true or not?

    do colleges take mature students?

    Most FE colleges should. You'll need to pay for the course though as you're over 18.

    You have to pay college, no free education in UK for over 19's.

    but are you guys sure i can studqy a levels at any age? and get into uni to do law?

    You can certainly do A levels at your age, I am currently in my second year of A levels myself and I'm 21. Depending upon your circumstances you might not have to pay to do them either. If this is your first full level 3 qualification then you should be able to apply for learner support funds (via the college) and if you earn below a certain threshold then your tuition fees will be waivered.

    I had a 44 year old in my A level maths last year, so yes!

    last question now...can i get into uni to do law? my law teacher said unis will accept me for courses like childcare etc but not law is it true?

    Yes, you can Self-teaching (and sitting the exam as private candidate) is also possible, though I'd imagine it would be difficult to do so
