Thought i'd start a thread because of all the radio 1 dislike.
For me it's all the urban music and the simulcast on saturday nights.
It's still okay on evenings because the specialist lives up to what it says it is, but workplaces for example, the urban music can be a bit hard for daytimes.
What About you?
BTW Dabbl is a good alternative, though online only.

It has a limited range of songs, and far too much talking.
My boyfriend LOVES it for the talking, but I think radio should be about music. I don't want to hear about what the DJ did with his night off, or which takeaway he went to. -

Since Colin Murray left, I used to listen to his show all the time. Zane Lowe is a bit of a **** admittedly but the music is good.

Zane Lowe.
Late night music (after midnight or whatever) is utter kack. Makes me resort to local radio on the drive home. -

Well for me I just don't like much pop music. I kind of just like metal so it's not just Radio 1 it's radio in general. XFM calls itself rock but it's just a load of indie rubbish. Kerrang is ok i suppose.
For workplaces, Heart is quite good. Alot of lady gaga, katy perry and other decent pop stuff. -

The same crappy music repeated, repeatedly every hour. Drove down to Exeter listening to the radio, it soon becomes apparent that they have a playlist, I got very bored. I like Sara Cox and Scott Mills, don't think much about the others when did listen to it - given up now, my radio remains off.

The talking and the fact that the 'DJ's' play ****** background music whilst talking and leave big pauses between sentences so they don't have to play any music because they spend so much bloody time TALKING!
In the words of Clarkson, "Radio One music is just banging bits of furniture together." -

I dislike the music they play. I used to listen to Chris Moyles in the morning (when i actually had to get up in the morning!) and that was good because there wasn't much music and when there was it tended to be good/alright because they shunned the ****** music. Yeah, that's pretty much the only reason I dislike it.

The lack of fluidity and control the 'presenters' have over their aired conversations. I mean if I wanted mangled banter like that I would've gone to a pub.
Oh and they play god awful music -

I LOVE radio 1. Only really listen to it during the afternoons/ drive-time though but I flipping love the banter. Also I'm a bit in love with Scott MillsA colleague of mine met him in Butlins in Minehead and he was lovely!

The terrible music, the annoying jingles, the DJs, the programmes, its existence. That's all, TBH.

Nick Grimshaw.
Absolute travesty to have that vain self-obsessed non-entity in Colin Murray's slot. Urgh. -
