If you could go back in time by say, 5 hours. Forget time space continuum. Forget real science saying you can't go back through time.
    Forget paradoxes...

If you got a hand-job from yourself, would that count as masturbation?

Now imagine if it was a pre-puberty you, and you got a hand-job, is that still masturbation?

If you were to kill a past you would that be murder or suicide (obviously you couldn't be held accountable as you'd stop existing).

Surely it would be far easier to use a scenario where you cloned yourself, as opposed to the whole time-travel malarkey.

You're much less likely to get people come on here and complain about the pedantry of why it's fundamentally impossible then.

Cloning yourself would be another person with the same genes.
If you as a kid did something you'd be blamed for it, it's part of your identity.
If a clone is made of you before then, it would be ridiculous to claim the clone is also to blame.

No, what you said made a lot less sense.

    Not really.

There's no conceivable way that you could travel back in time and kill yourself, because then you would instantly cease to exist and could never have travelled back in the first place.

Whereas you could clone yourself and then kill it.

    But it wouldn't be you.
The whole issue here is personal identity, not paradox's, how are you not getting this:rolleyes: .

Which is what I meant when I said semantics. A clone could very well have the same personal identity as you.

However, this is not the kind of thing you set up the thread to discuss, so I shall take my leave.

Because cloning doesn't have anything to do with the mind perhaps?

    Presuming personal identity changes...
So if you were to get a hand job off a past you, that would be from another person.

I think it would. You'd still have to get their consent, even if they are you... and it would still not be right to molest a 5-year-old even if you were once them.

    Erm...even after you're dead?

    T-aged 5
    memories a, b, c
    T-aged 10
    memories b, c, d
    T-aged 15
    memories c, d, e
    T-aged 20 memories
    memories d, e, f

Is T the same person at the age of 5 and 20.
T aged 5 doesn't have the same memories of T aged 20 or vice versa.
