The wikipedia article is reasonably good on this:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clause_IV

And be careful what you listen to in terms of comments from people on TSR, it's a fairly right-wing forum!

It basically the clause which says the labour party will distribute resources to the workers. Its the basically underpinns the labour party as socialist. I belive that Blair got rid of it.

It's the Socialist part of the Labour manifesto.

Whenever a party is seen to veer really strongly from it's usual ideology, it's known as a 'clause 4 moment', cause Labour's been going further and further away from it's original socialist ideology.

British rail - started by the Conservatives, but Labour finished off privatising it rather than keeping railways in the public sector like it promised earlier.

Most stuff was privatised by the Conservatives though.

Alot of people say that the NHS is being privatised more and more under Labour, but I don't know much about that tbh.

I would suggest the creation of academys, where schools would be run by private enterprises rather than local government.

Try Private Finance Initiatives (renting out Hospital catering etc using franchises) instead of British Rail. British Rail is very much Conservative privatisation.
