Help Please!

Ive been thinking of how to tackle this question but I'm stuck, can anyone help please?

The diagram shows how an engineer plans to add two supports to shore up the crumbling roof of a victorian sewer tunnel. The two supports are anchored at A(-3,4) and C(3,1) and meet at B(1,5). It is essential that the angle between the two supports at point B is withing 10 degrees or a right angle. Determine whether this particular plan is acceptable.

Thanks:smile:

Right, so angle 80* < <BAC < 100*

Is that what the question is asking?

Anyway, work out that angle.

I would do it by finding the lengths AB, BC, CA, and drawing a new diagram.
Then you can try and use the trigonometry rules you might know.

I hope this is right. I've made a fool of myself in this forum too many times. :emo:
