    Ok,
Im currently in year 11 and taking my exams in june-I want to take further maths but im only predicted a B at the moment. I want to take further maths (as said) but I dont know if I get an A or A* in my real exams- can i take further maths?

This is what I would do:
    1. Send off predicted grades
    2. In interview, mention that if I get an A or A* in maths, I could drop politics or philosophy for further maths.
    3. Get an A or A*
    4. Drop politics or philosophy
    5. Go to further maths classes

    Is this possible?

I'm of the opinion that anyone who can do an a-level in mathematics can also handle a a-level in further maths. I also think most schools will allow you to do so with and A or an A*.

It's up to the individual sixth form/college to decide, if you're staying at the same school then they might be more lenient.

Most places will let you switch courses after you've enrolled.

My school won't let you unless you get a sound A for GCSE as many people struggle with it, while it is possible most would advise it unless you are really able at maths, which you will only know yourself.
