Excellent, I approve! Have three science points :yep:

I am most definitely not an opponent of stem cell research hehe. The project I interviewed for a job with is so interesting, I really hope I get it. They're experimenting with methods to differentiate human embryonic stem cells into cardiomyocytes (beating heart muscle cells), with a view to transplanting them into patients that have had myocardial infarctions etc., as currently there's no real way to repair the damage that remains. The interview seemed to go well, and it felt like I got on with the interviewers quite well, so here's hoping!
That's really interesting! I'm crossing my fingers that you get the job. :yep: That would be so brilliant.

I'm still stuck on which MSc I should choose. But then again, I haven't even started on my BSc degree yet. :p:

Opponents argue a lot about a human life being lost, but I don't really think so. Currently (afaik) they use a surplus of the in-vitro-fertilisation embryos to get their stem cells and an embryo really isn't alive yet. An embryo or a fetus in a woman's womb is more like a parasite living off the woman's nutrients with the exception that they don't reproduce. :p: But that's just my opinion.

But they could help so many more patients. :yep: They already succeeded with some tissue-specific stem cells, but it will still take some time until pluripotent or embryonic stem cells can be successfully used in humans. But again, that's just afaik.

    And hello everyone! :hello:

Morning :hugs: all good here, yourself?
I'm lovely, thanks. Girlfriend spent the night at my flat after orchestra, and we made breakfast for dinner and then watched Star Trek. Tomorrow we're going to the cinema.

So happy to be back in the same city as her. <3

Yes, it was a really nice evening.

Sorry to hear about that. It's almost always due to lack of experience.

I've not been around, so what was the job?! I am sorry you didn't get it, but you seem to be taking it quite well.

Random question that popped into my head: are you German?

FML too. Bored to no end. Wanna go out and enjoy myself. No one's got time. And alone to a gay bar? No.

    I have time ffs.

And you needn't leave alone

Such a slutty comment, I apologise. Too much rum and coke ffs... all by myself (as Celine would sing awesomely).

It is a really random question, but I am half-German. Indeed!

    You are fully German then?!

Then come to Frankfurt and let's hit a gay bar. :p:

    No need to apologise!

And yes, I am fully German. :yep: Which I sometimes find quite boring.

I once flirted with some Germans randomly, and then tried to speak using my GCSE wisdom :facepalm2:

But they bought lots of drinks for me and my friend. It was pretty ****** up... but awesome all the same.

Why is being German boring ffs?

I am in Munich this summer with friends actually, so am looking to sample some German nightlife. Hopefully some mental allnight club.
