No no I'm just an ignorant Londoner

Hmm club goer? I don't mind clubs I'm more of a pub person though. I like to be able to talk to people and that's pretty hard going at clubs lol! How about you? I've heard students only go into the clubs during the week as the weekend brings the horrors of the locals haha! Nottingham has a gay scene?! I wouldn't have thought that actually

np with the reading list its mostly easy going text books or so i've been told!
Its ok I'm not in a position to poke fun. My friends often point out my London centric mindset, especially when it comes to food and culture. I remember when I worked in Birmingham and was literately amazed that there wasn't an underground system. Took me a few days to come to terms with it. 'What if the buses are not running. What do we do?!' I said in front of unimpressed locals

Yeah Nottingham central has a big gay pride supposedly. As well as three gay clubs I've been told. I think a 4th gay bar was opening too a fellow gay mate told me. I'm a pub-bar-club guy. If there is few drinks involved, chance to socialise and have fun. I'm not too fussed. :o:

I've heard horror stories too but hopefully I'll be safe in numbers. I'm in Hillingdon what borough are you in?

    England are going to lose!!

And Belgium is officially the world's best country for pissing off the catholics so much. I hope they hold their nerve and set a precedent for arresting the tossers when they do something wrong.

Well that was a good whipping! (and not in the good way :p:). Always said we'd get through to the last 16 and get knocked out by the Jerries. Wish I had placed a bet now...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9B-ZoS0wvU Best describes my feelings at the football. Glad all this nonsense is over with now.

What did Belgium do? I always enjoy Catholics being pissed off, it's one of my favourite hobbies. The Pope is coming to Birmingham and there's going to be a Mass in a park about 10 minutes from my house. Not amused.

I approve of the song :p:

Belgium raided and arrested all its resident bishops, arrested two further priests (I think), confiscated computers, paper work and mobile phones from all involved and opened a priest's tomb for examination. And the church has responded by saying 'There is no precedent for this!', 'This is worse treatment than in the communist era' and laughably 'You should let us deal with any transgressions. We should work together in mutual respect of each other's laws'.

I dearly hope Belgium tells the Pope to **** off, if only because of that last comment. The priests should not in any way be above the law...

And having that near your house sucks, but does give you an incredible opportunity to 'lunge wildly at the Pope' as Bill Bailley put it.

Wow, who knew Belgium was so awesome?

That last sentence is ******* infuriating. You aren't above the law because you believe in a man in the sky, you morons. Catholics are ****** up.

I hope that justice will follow its course while guaranteeing the rights of individuals and institutions, respecting the rights of victims, (and) acknowledging those who undertake to collaborate with it,"
Erm, say what now? Since when has the catholic Church respected the rights of victims of child abuse? They've covered it up for god only knows how long, paid off the victims to keep them quiet and who knows what else.

All this talk of the detainment of priests being 'unprecedented' is ridiculous. They're being detained because they're suspected of serious crimes, not just because they're priests. The righteous indignation doesn't really work here I'm afraid.

    Now I'm angry. Grr.

I'm seriously annoyed at the Pope visit. I really want to go and protest. Not just because of all the nasty **** the Catholic Church gets up to, but because it's going to cost the taxpayer (as far as I'm aware) several million to pay for this visit, which is just ridiculous. My old school will probably have a contingent there too, so there's a good opportunity to be shocking.

It'll cost us £15 million for the visit itself, and then we have to supply security for the event which will cost probably the same again. Sadly

I'm looking forward to not seeing the England flag on every street; every car and naturally, at every bar.

Aye I ****ing love the Hobbit pub in Soton, they have a strict "No Football Zone" policy :p:

I'm tempted to fly my pirate flag from my car. When I mentioned this to my friend, she responded "Oh, supporting Somalia then?" xD

I'd be impressed if you could actually find a Pirate-flag version of those car-flags tbh.

I've got one that's the right size, but it's just on a stick, so I'd have to tape it to the antenna or something hehe.
