I'M THE ONLY GAY IN THE VILLAGE!

Gays, I might be going to Newcastle in December. Ugh. Though we'll probably visit Edinburgh, so we might get to witness -some- culture :p:

    And in other news:

Holy crap  Apparently, not only am I getting £1300 more in student loan/grant next year, but I will also be eligible for approx. £1600 bursary.

 I really hope my father doesn't get a job. Really really hope. This money thing's addictive.

    Nice!

My mum has just been let down from her job (damn economy). And she's the only one I live with. I'm applying to uni this year...What does that mean in terms of my finance, etc? She wants to get another job but not for a couple months, whilst she has some time off.

I'm not sure how it works, my Dad insisted on filling in the forms himself and flat refused to tell me what year's earnings the assessment is based on. Dunno why. But if this happened after you applied it's definitely worth getting a change of circumstances form and sending it off, just in case. Your loan'll probably go up.

(You'll obviously have to inform them when and if your Mum goes back to work, but you'll still get something extra in the mean time)

EDIT: That's if you're going to uni this October, rather than if you just entered year 13 as you may have meant.

Sorry, maybe I didn't word it well. I've just gone into year13 and was wondering when I have to start sorting out loans and such. Isn't it after my application is sent off and I hold offers?

:hugs: Take a break, it'll come to you.
I kinda feel like this at the moment with mine. Only about half way there. How many lines/characters is it meant to be, max?
47 Lines on the UCAS form or 4000 characters. The line restriction is more important. Paste it onto the UCAS form and see how it currently looks.

Speaking of history, I'm reading about the life of Leonardo Da Vinci. It'll definitely give me some inspiration. :yep:

You register with Student Finance England online after you've sent off the UCAS application. Once you've got offers, you add your university and course online, even if it's a conditional offer.

    Thank you, lovely. Very helpful.

As for the UCAS thingy, I'm not using word so I guess I have to keep counting lines....Fun times! How is your statement doing now?

Now that you know your dog likes you, don't do anything considered subnormal

How did you make your signature, I want one with Derby hall written in the Nottingham font style too. What font style is it?

It might be a good option to start your personal statement within two weeks. Get the ball rolling with thoughts and ideas. I finished a very rough draft by the end of September. I had a few friends who were applying to Oxbridge and began their process earlier, so I got dragged along. People tend to apply for student finance after they receive a some offers.

Yeah, it's only then that you need to bother with it. I had to use my UCAS login to get mine sorted, so you definitely can't do it yet.

Nah. I'm a genial socialist. I think socialism is good, but I also think loopholes should be exploited to their fullest extent. Read: £1800 free money from the government in grant and £1600 free money from my university when I could tecnnically pay for myself next year. (Though that -would- leave me penniless).
