Is this normal!?! [Crying about my long-over ex]

Hi ya,
I am 99% sure that im over my ex, I dont love him anymore; of course I still care about him but i know that I would never want to get back with him... but every so often i end up crying about losing him and I cant stop!!
I know it sounds silly, but its weird cos i really feel like i should have got over by him by now, but I keep thinking about him and feeling really depressed about it.
Do you think its just because I havent found anyone else to "replace" him yet?
Please help cos I really need to get over it now!

When did you guys break-up? Our hearts take a lot of time to heal. This time may vary from person to person, so I can't tell you an exact time when you will feel normal. Meanwhile watch a movie, read a book, hang out with your friends or find a new hobbie.

Good luck!

Once I was dating a guy who I thought was the perfect one for me. And it took me almost a year to get over it. (Maybe it's just me) Anyway, I hope you will feel better soon.

At the same time Im lonely I have no-one to learn a new hobby with; all my mates have boyfriends or full time jobs
Hopefully i can find a summer job to keep me occupied!
it seems pretty obvious that you're SO not over him, despite what you think/say.

Most definitely, if you find someone else, you will start focusing on them and care less about your ex. I'm going through the same thing at the moment, just can't seem to get over my ex gf.

Yeah I guess so, but it feels like its gonna be an eternity before i find a serious boyfriend again!
I hate this stage im in, its so depressing cos i have no-one and all I have is memories of someone who i am supposed to not think about anymore!

I still sometimes get really upset over my ex that I broke up with 2 years ago, and I think to an extent I always will. Try to remember all his bad points, and every time he pissed you off - works for me :p:

haha, yeah thats the thing whenever I do think about him I always try and remind myself of his bad points, but its hard to block out all the good things about him!!
I wrote a list of things I hate about him when we broke up (was really helpful lol) so I might read through that again if i feel the need to have a bit of a cry!

I've been doing some more thinking and Ive decided not to beat myself up over it; i guess its pretty normal to still care about someone, after all I am human!
Guess I'll just have to get on with it and wait until I fall in love with someone else (god knows when that will be tho  )

Why did you break up?

Sounds like you still love him to me, otherwise you wouldn't be worrying about it enough to post a thread on here. If you don't love him, which i doubt, then just get on with your life.

And finally, poor you... :hugs:

He moved away to uni and didnt want the hassle of having a long-distance relationship I guess..
