my guy friend from abroad who has come to my hometown to study keeps asking me to introduce him to my friends partly so he can practice his english and also because he doesn't have many friends at the moment.
i feel awkward about this because:

    1. i feel like he and my long-time friends won't really get along that well, they are quite different to him and mostly girls
    2. my new friends (uni) aren't close, and there isnt really a group situation with them that i could invite him along to - i tend to know them on a one-on-one basis as everyone tends to do their own thing after lectures etc...

i think i should include him more socially but i just think it would be quite awkward given the situations i mentioned above..what do you suggest i do?!

I'd introduce him to the first group. Unless you think they're going to get along really badly and fight or something (which sounds unlikely) - I mean, they don't have to become best friends just to hang out and have a few drinks or watch a film together or something?
