Wrap in cling-film, and then rest the fingers on top of a frozen vegetable packet.

Make sure you wrap them in cling-film because prolonged, direct exposure to the frozen packet will damage the skin further.

Cling film will act as an oxygen inhibitor - the burn will stop burning if the oxygen can't get to it. It also stop so much bacteria getting in the area and making the healing process longer.

Well... all that's from St Johns Ambulance Badgers course when I was about 9....

edit: bleh, you're already sorted. I'll never have a use for this knowledge. :sigh:

Please burn your other hand Glad you're OK

    so hobs on max.
    wrong hob plate.
handle over wrong hob plate (not touching it of course).
I put my hand to the pan handle (not realising it's the wrong hob plate thingy) and within a second my skin goes dead.

I run it under cold water for a minute. Then two minutes not doing anything. Then I kept it in cold water for, now, 2 hours.
every time it's out of the water I'm in agony with it.
    No painkillers about.
What should I do to it apart from water?
    ouchies
You've put in cold water for far too long, you should never put a burn in cold water for longer than 20 minutes. Go to your doctors.

that doesn't look too bad. if there are blisters (looks like it) and they burst you should go to a nurse to get it cleansed because otherwise you might get an infection - and that's something you really want to avoid. I woudn't say that's too bad as its on a very small area so you'll be okay Last september i got a 2nd degree scald on my abdomen from tripping with a hot cup of tea and it was the size of half a sheet of paper (half of an A4) nasty..
