How do you pronounce "Haiti"? watch

    Before the recent earthcake I always pronounced it as......Hah-Yee-Tee.

    But the newsreader seem to pronounce it as.....Hay-Tee.

    Hay-Tee apparently, I thought it was also Hay-ee-tea, when I said it to my dad he had NO IDEA what I was talking about lol

    If there's a question of pronounciation, it's always a good bet to assume that the way you don't say the word yourself is how the Americans say it.

    Not this time though. We say Hay-tee as well.
