    Hey benched, ok lets take this bit by bit.

    First can you tell me where forces are acting on the rod AB, you dont need to yet think about their direction or magnitude, just tell me where forces are acting on the rod AB. I cant give you a step by step, but I will help you get to the answer yourself ;D. Hint, there are 3 forces acting on the rod AB.
