At the moment Im trying to decide which unis to apply to for an MA. In terms of the marks you can be awarded, I know that some uni's can award your masters degree as pass, merit or distinction, whereas other universities just offer either pass or distinction.

Im interested to know which of the good uni's do offer the merit grade for their Masters degrees?

It would probably be helpful if you told us which unis you are considering. Otheriwse we can keep on listing and it won't necessarily be very useful.

King's has FAIL, PASS, MERIT and DISTINCTION. Not sure about the others I am afraid. Thye should have some information about grading and requirements on their websites though.

From Warwick, only a pass or distinction can be awarded (see http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/g...te_courses.pdf (section 4.2 - Final Board))

Same goes for Southampton, according to some small print in various sections of http://www.calendar.soton.ac.uk/ for different schools of study.
