    Alright guys, just confused over a little bit here:

    I get the answer right for compound 1, but compound 2 - wtf. I thought as compound one was a carboxylic acid, compound 2 would be have two alchohol groups so condensation can take place. Didn't see that it is apparently an acly chloride, why is this? Cheers

    Thats what I put But it's not on the mark scheme apparently? Or am I reading something wrong, if it is on there then sorted, if not then I'm confused
