how to get over a guy i can never get with

basically, i've liked this one guy for about a 6-7 months now, he's not amazingly looking, but i love his personality so am attracted to him and like like him.

But, I'm muslim girl and he's a hindu boy so nothing could ever happen, even I know I never would marry a non-muslim just over conflict of interest, and I know from coversations with him he can never be with a muslim girl. Also, I'm not the type of person who'd just be in a relationship with him that won't last because i'm overly sensitive so I don't want heart break :frown:

So how do I get over him?? Because he's in my friendship group so he's impossible to avoid.
