    Hey.

I applied for medicine 2009 entry, and only got my 5th choice which was Biology at Southampton (BBB). Ive been at Soton for a few months now and i absolutely LOVE biology. So much that im thinking about taking it as a primary degree.

Which has got me thinking, I got 3.5 A's at Alevel, and loads of UCAS points from Music and Drama, about 550 in total. I was wondering whether i should reapply for some higher universities like Imperial and Cambridge, my UCAS level is above average and i know that i love the course.

Will admissions people look down on the fact that ive 'dropped out' of soton - even though its in pursuit of a more intense challenging degree?? Any opinions would be great. Also...is oxford easier to get into than Cam.?

    Thanks guys

If you like...don't see why you would though, unless you're just hankering after bragging rights. Southampton is an excellent university, and if you've already made friends and whatnot, why leave? :dontknow:

Doubt they'd look down on you, second year transfers happen all the time.

Also, I think UCL, Imperial etc want 70% in your first year exams, reckon you can get that?

Thanks for the reply. I love the biology but dont particularly like southampton. I just feel im not getting much out of southampton - even though it is a renouned good uni. I have the oppertunity to reapply for those to uni's and for the time and money and effort of University...why not. 70%, i just did Jan exams, i honestly cant answer you how they went, a definate pass but what colours? So you dont think they would be prejudiced, thats good.
    Thanks Democracy.

Well, in that case I wish you the best of luck

You should probably talk to your tutor/academic adviser about transferring and then apply through UCAS iirc. You might also have to sit an interview, depending on where you apply.
