    if you have say:

    H H H H H
    H-C-C-C-C -C- H
    H H H H H

For NMR spectra, would you say 2nd and 4th carbon has same hydrogen environment but the 3rd carbon has diff.. even tho they are both H-C-H
because for the 2nd and 4th carbon it is split by 3 adjacent carbons but the 3rd carbon is split by 4?
or would htey jus class as one environment?
im just confused because they are both CH2 but should split into different number of peaks..

Yes, there are three different environments:
    1,5
    2,4
    3

In reality though all of the signals would appear so close together that you'l get a mess.
